Privacy Policy
The Short Version
PayCalcFig does not ask you to create an account. We do not sell your personal information. We do not attach your name, email address, or phone number to anything you type into our calculators. The only data we collect is anonymous aggregate analytics that help us understand which tools are useful and which ones need improvement. That is the whole story — keep reading if you want the legal version.
Information We Collect
When you visit PayCalcFig, two things happen in the background:
Anonymous analytics data. We use Google Analytics to collect basic information about every visitor: the country and state you are browsing from, the type of device you are using, the pages you clicked on, and how long you stayed on each page. All of this data is aggregated. We cannot identify you from it, and we do not try to.
Calculator input data. When you type a salary number or a state into one of our calculators, that number is processed in your browser and on our server only long enough to return a result. We do not permanently store the salary you entered, and we do not combine it with any identifying information.
We do not collect your name, email address, phone number, or IP address in a way that can be linked back to you. We do not ask for your date of birth, your Social Security Number, or your bank account details. Ever.
How We Use the Data
The anonymous analytics data is used for three things, and nothing else:
1. Product improvements. If we see that 80% of visitors land on the salary calculator but only 20% of them click "calculate," we know the form is too long or the button is hard to find. We use the data to fix that.
2. Loading speed. Analytics tell us which pages are slow on mobile devices in certain states. That lets us prioritize performance work where it matters most.
3. Honest reporting to advertisers. If an ad network asks how many monthly readers we have, we pull that number from the same anonymized analytics dashboard. No cherry-picking, no inflated numbers.
Cookies and Local Storage
We use a small number of cookies and local storage entries to keep the site working. You can read the full list on our Cookie Policy page, but in short:
We use analytics cookies (from Google) to count visitors and track basic pageviews. We use functional cookies to remember your last calculator input while you are on the site so you do not have to retype it if you click a link. We use preference cookies to remember your dark mode setting and your state selection across visits.
You can turn cookies off in your browser settings at any time. The calculators will still work — you just will not get the saved-preference feature.
Third-Party Services
PayCalcFig uses two third-party services, and both are required to display this page honestly:
Google Analytics. Runs in the background on every page. It sets the analytics cookies mentioned above and reports anonymous usage data back to Google. You can review Google's own privacy policy for more detail.
Google AdSense. If you see ads on the site, they are delivered by Google AdSense. AdSense uses its own cookies to show you advertisements that might be relevant to you. We do not control which ads you see, and we do not share your calculator inputs with Google. You can opt out of personalized ads through Google's Ad Settings tool.
Your Rights
Under current US privacy law (including CCPA in California and similar state laws), you have the right to ask us what personal information we hold about you. Because we do not hold any personal information that can identify you, most of these requests are trivially satisfied — we literally have nothing to send you.
If you live in California, you also have the right to opt out of "sales" of your personal information. Since we do not sell any personal information, there is nothing to opt out of. That said, we honor any opt-out request you send by email, just to keep things clear.
Changes to This Policy
We review this policy once a year and update it when our data practices change. Material changes — like adding a new third-party service — will be reflected here with a new "Last updated" date and a brief note at the top of the page. Minor wording fixes will update the date without a separate announcement.
Contact Us About Privacy
If you have any question about this policy, want to submit a data rights request, or suspect a privacy issue on the site, email us at privacy@paycalcfig.com. We will respond within seven calendar days, usually much faster.
